Session 1 – Designing and assessing curricular and co-curricular programs for learning with Dr. Patti Clayton
This session will offer participants a hands-on opportunity to explore the integration of reflection and assessment into curricular and co-curricular service-learning activities. The facilitator will support participants in considering the desired learning objectives associated with such activities on their campus and then in designing those activities to include a corresponding reflection and assessment strategy that is capable of generating and documenting that learning. We will give particular consideration to the possibilities of designing such activities developmentally, so that student learning (as well as community impact) builds over time, and with a focus on leadership development.
Session 2 – Effective best practices for strategic and community partnerships with Dr. Marshall Welch
Dr. Welch will facilitate a workshop designed to offer advice and suggestions on the development of community-campus partnerships that are effective and mutually beneficial.
