Sunshine State Showcase
"A Statewide Exhibit of Engaged Scholarship"
The Sunshine State Showcase will highlight programs and projects that enhance the quality, impact and sustainability of the scholarship of engagement through volunteerism, service-learning, civic engagement, applied research, and campus-community collaboration in Florida.
This is your opportunity to present programs and projects on your campus as part of a network of Florida's experts on civic engagement and scholarship. In addition, campus liaisons/presenters will be able to consult with each other to enhance state-wide scholarship and promote ideas centered on civic engagement and other engaged practica. Attendees will have influence within the engaged arena as they:
- Ignite meaning and purpose in the collegiate experience by leading the cutting-edge practice of civic engagement, resulting in a responsible, informed, and thriving society;
- Participate in the evolution of the engaged campus by highlighting programs with curricular, co-curricular, interdisciplinary, and research projects;
- Promote engaged teaching and learning through projects that develop students' citizenship skills and values;
- Endorse collaborative campus-community partnerships that address community needs, and encourage the scholarship of engagement within teaching and research;
- Help determine the best showcase presentation and program design.
We invite you to showcase the programming on your campus with your colleagues. To participate, please submit an application and choose a template (curricular/ co-curricular or volunteer programs) for the arrangement of your materials and return to Laurie@floridacompact.org. We hope to see you there!
