Today, FL|CC would like to recognize:

Kaitlyn Priestley, Ringling College of Art & Design, AmeriCorps VISTA

“We have had such wonderful VISTAs serve at Ringling College, but Kaitlyn Priestley really is a stand out. She is truly invested in Healthy Futures for our neighbors in the food deserts of Sarasota. Kaitlyn has created (from scratch, in it’s entirety, including training, curriculum, and evaluation) a summer program for children from these neighborhoods to learning gardening skills to create their own, sustainable healthy futures. With this program, and others in Orange Blossom Community Garden, she is actively working to improve past projects and create new endeavors that have significant impact on these communities and create more meaningful service that directly connects our students to the needs of our neighbors and their experiences. In this way, her service is having a significant impact on students- even those who are regular volunteers. We are so grateful for her commitment to VISTA and this community!”

Thank you, Kaitlyn!
