AmeriCorps Program
What is the FL|CC College Access and Success AmeriCorps Program?
Through funding provided by Volunteer Florida since 2010, Florida Campus Compact (FL|CC) is able to provide universities, colleges, and
community partners the opportunity to administer the College Access and Success AmeriCorps Program in Florida communities.
The College Access and Success AmeriCorps Program is dedicated to providing the necessary skills and training needed for college students to become
AmeriCorps Members that mentor at-risk youth grades 6 through 12 as well as first generation college students enrolled in developmental education courses.
By offering their support and guidance one-on-one or in small groups, students are mentored within the program before, during and after school hours;
AmeriCorps Members are able to help their mentees with not only achieving college admission but also the proficiency to navigate their academic studies
to succeed!
What are the requirements and benefits to participating in the program?
College students who wish to become AmeriCorps Members must be able to meet the program's eligibility requirements in addition to any prerequisites that
student's university, college, or community partner may require. For more information and the first step to take on your rewarding journey of volunteer

Students who participate in the program as AmeriCorps Members commit to serve either 300 or 900 hours throughout the program term (September 1, 2012-August
31, 2013). Students who select the 900 hour commitment will be able to qualify for a modest living stipend directly funded by FL|CC.
After successfully completing the program, in addition to making an important and lasting impact on their mentees' future, Members are eligible to receive
a pro-rated Segal AmeriCorps Educational Award that will be based on number of hours fulfilled. For more information on the benefits of volunteer service

How can this program impact you and your campus?
Each year AmeriCorps members are surveyed at the end of their term through the Civic Engagement Survey which reflects on their experience within the
program. This is distributed to participating campuses with site specific results; below is the overall program results.
